Students may wear blue and yellow tomorrow to show their school spirit! Tomorrow is also our library day and spelling test day. Come prepared!
Today we had a math assessment in the morning, we had reading time with our 5th grade buddies, and we did some fun art projects in the afternoon. We are in need of cleaning wipes! If you are able to donate some, we would appreciate it. Thanks!!
Today we practiced using base ten blocks and a number grid as tools to solve addition problems involving 2-digit numbers. We used silly animal stories to make it fun: If a 10 pound starfish is riding on a 75 pound penguin, how much would they weigh in all?
Today we began a new Wonder unit - all about animals! This week, we are focused on specific animal features and how they help animals to survive. We are also reading many fun folktales, and we will be writing our own folktales about animals.
We had lots of fun Reader's Theater performances today! Students did a great job reading with fluency and expression!
What a wonderful Valentine's Day we had!! We played candy heart battleship in math this morning, we read several Valentine stories, we had a yummy pizza party, and we had a blast at the Jump Rope for Heart stations!!!
BIG thanks to the Ramseys of Stark House Tavern for donating pizza for our party! Yum!
We made seed paper today! Ask your child about it! We also read a fun story called Too Many Tomatoes, as we are continuing to learn about where our food comes from. No new words this week! It is a Wonders review and assessment week!
We had a cool reward for reaching our dojo goal - ipad time! We borrowed the school ipads and played learning games today!
There was a fire drill this afternoon, and I was very proud of the students for their quick and quiet response. Happy Weekend!
Happy 100th day of school!! We had fun doing lots of 100-themed activities today. Ask your child about it! Tomorrow is our library day, so please send that book in if your child brought his home. We also have our spelling test - so go over those words!
Today we continued to learn about and celebrate Chinese New Year by making Chinese "Good Luck" banners with our 5th grade buddies!
We learned about and celebrated the start of Chinese New Year today! We even used chopsticks to eat our snacks! Ask your child about it!
We started scrolling today!! Students are filling in a number grid, and they will keep adding grid paper as their numbers get bigger and bigger. So exciting!
