Thank you to everyone who came to the Meet and Greet time in our classroom yesterday! It was so nice to meet everyone! If you did not make it, no worries. Please contact me to let me know what your child's after school plan will be on the first day of school. (That's my biggest worry! I want to make sure everyone gets to where they need to be after school!) Also feel free to contact me with any information you'd like to share about your child that will help ease the transition into first grade. I'm looking forward to working with you all!

I am looking forward to a school year full of fun, memorable activities. Together we will help your child develop a love for learning!
First grade is a terrific time full of learning and growing. We will make new friends and learn, play, and laugh together every day. We will read lots of books to both inform and entertain us. We will also make books and stories of our own. In first grade we will develop number sense and play lots of math games! First graders are scientists and geographers too. We will observe and experiment inside and outside to learn all about the world around us. Have you seen all of the “Back to School” supplies out at the stores already? The only things you will need to provide for school are a backpack and a homework folder. Please designate one special pocket folder to be used for school papers. Label it clearly on the outside with your child’s first and last name. The school provides writing and art tools. It is not necessary to bring these from home. Throughout the year you will be able to find out about our class by visiting this website. Bookmark it and check it often! I update the announcements page daily. The Nuts and Bolts section will be especially helpful as you prepare for the school year. I would love an opportunity to meet you and your child before school begins. If you can, please drop in on Thursday, August 29th anytime between 1:30 and 2:30 to meet me and see our classroom. Also, feel free to email or call me with any questions you have or information you want to share. I can’t wait to learn and discover with your first grader! |
