We are a week and a half into our remote learning! With the success of making it as far as we have, we also want to stay motivated to keep moving forward! Below are some tips and tricks that may help daily routines with your child:
Take Frequent Breaks: This is essential, even in school, to take breaks between activities.
Let your child plan their day (structured) or give choices for what to do next: If you give your child a list of things that need to be accomplished for the day, have them rearrange the tasks in a manner that they would enjoy! That way, they can take charge of their day and the tasks you need completed will get done!
Change of Scenery: If the weather allows it, take your at home classroom outside! I have a new page called Outdoor Education, where I am starting to upload outdoor learning ideas.
Reduce the Workload: This can tie into taking frequent breaks. Break down tasks into smaller pieces and tie in more rest or brain breaks in between! You know your child best! Pick and choose from each academic section. You do not need to complete everything in one sitting!
Listen to Music: Music can be great for taking dance breaks, but it can also, when instrumental, create a peaceful atmosphere for learning and reading!
Celebrate Accomplishments: Everyone loves to be praised for their efforts! Let your student know how proud you are when he or she completes a task. Put work on display!
Be good to each other, and enjoy the day!
Love, Mrs. Willard & Ms. Laura
