In math, we are working on making ten. When students know their ten facts (5+5, 9+1, etc.) they can be super efficient problem-solvers! Today we played Penny Plate. Start with ten pennies. Hide some under a plate. Your student then needs to figure out how many there are hidden underneath. At this stage, students are using fingers or a number line to count hops from the number of visible pennies to ten. Try it out!
