Do you have to have big ears like an elephant to be a good listener? No! But it's fun to make and wear big listening ears, so that's just what we did today. We also learned about "bucket filling" today. A bucket is a metaphor for our emotional store. When we are happy, our buckets are full. When someone's bucket is empty, we can help them by using kind words. When we help others, it not only fills their buckets, it also helps to fill our own! We played music and sang the song: We are bucket fillers!
This year I am using Class Dojo as a class management tool. A slip went home in your child's folder today that has a code and instructions for logging onto the online platform to access your child's account. This is not something you have to do, but it is a tool that is available to you if you choose to use it. Basically, when you sign up for the Class Dojo , you can see the points that your child is earning for good behavior while he or she is at school each day.
