Think about the activity you did for Community Helpers of the Future. Write four or more sentences describing the Community Helper you chose. What do they do? What do they need to do their job? Most importantly, why would you like this job?

Number Grid Video: This video will help your child to understand place value on the number grid. Challenge: Sal’s grid is different than the one we use. Can your child figure out the difference? (Answer: Our grid places the 0 and the tens at the end of the sequence)

Refer to the 120 Grid below to help you with completing the Math Boxes (Number-Grid Puzzles). Reminder: when you go across the row - you are adding/subtracting by 1’s. When you go up and down the column - you are adding/subtracting by 10’s.

- Reading and spelling words with the letters a, aw, au, augh, and al
- Words to Know: brother, father, friend, love, mother, picture
- READ: All Kinds of Helpers Click on the book All Kinds of Helpers. Before you read, click on the arrow on the left side of the screen to check out the Phonics/Fluency pages (240-241) Click on the speakers to listen to information about the spelling patterns. Look for words with these patterns as you read All Kinds of Helpers. You can listen to it being read, or try reading it independently.
