Wonders
This week’s essential question is: Who helps you?
Today’s Skills:
READ: Find your reading group book in the READ section.
Helping Me, Helping You
Try to read it without having it read to you. At the end of the story, have an adult read the questions to you. Answer the questions by speaking clearly! Be sure to be detailed.
Then, read the PAIRED Read. This is the text that is found in the same book.
Have a conversation with an adult about how the two texts are alike and how they are different.
SPELLING/DECODING/HIGH FREQUENCY WORDS: Practice the words for the week!
TO DO: By Friday, May 22nd please go to your Wonders and find your “TO DO” list. (Green Bubble, clipboard, it will have a number on it) This is the same spot where you find Book Box Reading Practice. Please complete the following games Author’s Purpose, High Frequency Words, and Phonics. After you complete the games, you can write a note to me, and don’t forget to click the SUBMIT button!
Everyday Math
Lesson 8-12: Unit 8 Progress Check
Today’s Skill: Today will be the Unit 8 Assessment. Students will be assessed on their understanding of defining/nondefining attributes of shapes, fractions (halves and fourths), completing a bar graph, completing a number grid puzzle, time (to the half-hour), and adding ten.
Have your child do some exercises and/or stretches before completing the Unit 8 Everyday Math assessment. This can be done in Seesaw or by downloading and printing the file below. This assessment is a chance for the teachers to see how students are doing, and it helps us to determine how to focus our instruction in the last few weeks. Students may need adult support to read directions or type answers in, but please refrain from helping your child find the correct answers. Thank you!
