We had a blast wearing PJs and reading to our stuffed animals this week. We also continue to enjoy the snow at recess.
Students came home with some extra snow gear on Wednesday and Thursday. Here's why. My mom, Maddy Perron, aka "Mem," is a member of our New Boston community and one of the most amazing people I know. Pre-covid, my mom enjoyed volunteering in my classroom often, getting to know the students, and sharing her talents with them. She has been bummed that she cannot be involved this year. Over the holidays, she decided to connect with the students by making them each a pair of hand-knitted mittens! Your children were VERY grateful, and many wrote heartfelt thank you notes to Mem.
Students also took home the knitting that they were working on in the classroom. Each child has a knitting spool and knows how to use it. Now they can spend some time knitting at home, just like Mem does!
Next week is vacation week! Although I will miss the kids and our routines, I am looking forward to taking a break from screen time. I plan to do some knitting of my own, read lots of books, and go on lots of outdoor adventures! I hope that your child is able to recharge like I plan to. If you plan to travel during vacation week, please refer to the quarantine guidelines. Stay safe, everyone!
I am so proud of the Smarty Spiders and their families for doing their best and staying positive during this weird year. All students are making gains and learning how to be the best learners they can be.😊
