It was a lot of fun this week to read and write about pets. I was very proud of the whole-body-listening during our bring-your-pet-to-zoom time this morning. It was so fun to see everyone's pets!
As you may have seen in the Thursday Notices, we will be holding our traditional NBCS Halloween parade on Wednesday and Thursday this week, starting at 9:45. It will look a little different, as it will be a "reverse" parade. Students may bring costumes to school in a bag. We are hoping that students will be independent getting their costumes on and prepping for the parade. (We usually have parent volunteers to help us with this process, but, unfortunately, that is not a thing this year.) No weapons are allowed with costumes!
With the excitement of Halloween, we are not moving forward to the next week of study in our Wonders program next week. Instead, we will review and assess the skills and words we have already been introduced to, and we will do some fun projects.
We will also be taking this week to get everyone onto one more online learning platform...
You were emailed a letter with instructions to log onto IXL. I know this is a lot to juggle, but we're hoping that this platform will help us to personalize instruction better, collect some good data on your children's progress with individual skills, AND be engaging and fun for the students. Please check it out and try to log your students on with the device that he or she uses for remote learning, and let me know if you have any issues. If your children go to a learning center during remote days, please make sure the login information is shared with your child's remote learning team. If you are able to print the letter to keep in your child's folder, that would be helpful for staff members who will assist your child. If you would like me to send home a hard copy on Tuesday, please let me know.
Thank you so much for all that you are doing to help your child learn and grow!!!
