Your children have become word wizards this week! Students made "Magic Kits" to learn the power of silent "e". Students wrote short a words on cards, and when they add an "e" at the end with their magic wands, they change the word to a long a word! So can becomes... poof!... cane!
Vowels can be so tricky! One of the reading strategies we have been working on is to simply try a different vowel sound if the word doesn't sound right. Please make sure your child is reading at least 15-20 minutes every day for practice!
Last week was our last ART class for a while. We are starting back up with MUSIC this week!
We have been loving playing in the snow at recess. Please make sure your child has outdoor gear, as well as a seasonally appropriate change of clothes in his or her backpack, as the kids sometimes get very wet at recess time. A change of socks would be especially helpful. Thanks!
We filled our rock jar this week! Yahooo! Students earn rocks for good behavior, so now that we filled the jar, we're ready for a class reward! Students are voting for their reward on Seesaw today. As of right now, there's a tie with 4 kids left to vote. I'll keep you posted and let you know if your child should wear PJs to school one day this week! 😉
Last, I just want to thank you all for everything you are doing at home to support your children's learning adventure. I am so thankful to work with such caring and dedicated families.
Happy Valentine's Day to you all!!!
