We are participating in the school-wide reading challenge, which is being referred to as "Iditaread," and I am very proud to announce that our class blew past our goal! We set a goal to read 100 books as a class by the end of March. We have a chart in our classroom, and each time a child reads a book cover-to-cover, he or she marks it on our chart. We have surpassed our first goal and are now trying to get to 200 by the end of the month! Please be sure to read with your child each and every day at home. The more practice, the better!
We only have 2 weeks left of hybrid learning. I am so excited to bring both cohorts together and teach something new every Monday through Thursday to finish out the year! In the meantime, please continue to treat remote learning days as school days. Thank you so much to all of you for working hard to provide rich learning opportunities and academic support on those remote days. Your flexibility, hard work, and involvement has benefitted your children tremendously.
We are finishing up the 2nd trimester, and students will receive their report cards early next week. Then we dive into our last trimester of first grade!
As always, please reach out to me with any questions or concerns you may have!
