We are marching into spring! It has been so exciting to have warmer weather for playing outside! In the next month, we will be searching for signs of spring and utilizing the outdoors for learning.
The book fair is this week! Your student made a “wish list” today, and then he or she will have a chance to purchase books on Friday when we visit the book fair as a class from 10:30-11:00.
NO SCHOOL TOMORROW – VOTING DAY!
This week will be a review and assessment week for our class. We will not have new words for the week, and we will not have a spelling test. Instead, we will be practicing and solidifying our high frequency words, working on our reading fluency and comprehension, and writing our own stories. In math we are continuing to work on place value and manipulating 2-digit numbers. In science we are finishing up a unit of study on the relationship between the Earth and the sun, and we will be jumping into studies about animals and biomimicry. We will also do a fun STEM challenge at the end of this week with our learning buddies – creating a hideout for Tacky the Penguin and his companions! In social studies, we continue to work on our social skills, self-regulation skills, and peer relationships.
Second trimester report cards will be going home on Friday, March 27th. If you have any questions or concerns about your child’s progress, please reach out. Thank you!!!
