Last week was super fun. Our Wonders theme was buildings and building materials, so we did a lot of building all week long! We read several different versions of the Three Little Pigs. We built our own structures with Lego bricks, plastic cups, wooden blocks, magnets, lots of different natural materials, and even toothpicks and marshmallows! Students created books about buildings, writing and drawing about a different type of building on each page. The books that we have been making are motivating your students to write more and add details to their sentences and illustrations. They love to present their books in front of their peers and get feedback!
Remember to check Seesaw for pictures of our fun learning activities!
This week's theme is animal habitats. We are reading and writing about where animals live. Our spelling pattern for this week is very tricky. We are learning "end blends" in words like send, fast, and wink. We will focus on reading these words... we will not have a spelling test this Friday. 😉
On Thursday, November 11th, we will not have school in honor of Veteran's Day. To any of you who have served our country: THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE!
